In all cooking tests performed with MiiTi, it was observed that even in enclosed spaces, only a minimal amount of smoke and odor is produced. Increased odor or smoke is usually caused by improper cleaning of the appliance surfaces that require maintenance.

After 2–3 cooking cycles with MiiTi, the glass radiation-emitting surface should be carefully cleaned using warm water, a microfiber cloth, and dishwashing detergent. In addition, the protective pin located in front of the glass surface can be manually unscrewed, removed from the glass guides, cleaned, and reinstalled.
